Who We Are
Clearwood & Co. ("we", "us", "our") is an independent publisher and product company focused on financial education. Our store runs at clearwoodco.com, and our free Wealth Calculator runs at calculator.clearwoodco.com. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information We Collect
When you place an order, we collect what’s needed to fulfill it: your name, email address, shipping address, phone number if you provide one, and the details of what you bought.
Payment information is handled by Shopify and its payment processors. We never see or store your full card number.
When you subscribe to our newsletter or email list, we collect your email address.
When you browse the site, we collect standard analytics data: pages visited, browser type, general location, and how you found us, through Shopify’s built-in analytics.
Wealth Calculator
The numbers you enter into the Wealth Calculator (contributions, timelines, returns) are processed in your browser. We do not collect, store, or see them.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to fulfill and ship orders, respond to your questions, send order confirmations and tracking updates, send newsletters, updates, educational content, product announcements, and promotional emails you signed up to receive, and understand how people use the site so we can improve it.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Newsletter & Email
When you subscribe to our newsletter or email list, we collect your email address so we can send you Clearwood & Co. updates, educational content, product announcements, and promotional emails. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email we send.
Who We Share It With
We share information only with the services that make the store work:
• Shopify hosts the store and processes orders and payments
• Apliiq produces and ships our apparel; they receive your name, shipping address, and the items ordered when you buy apparel
• Shipping carriers receive your name and address to deliver your order
• Our email and newsletter provider helps us store subscriber emails and send emails to people who sign up
Each of these providers operates under its own privacy policy.
Cookies
The site uses cookies to keep your cart working, remember your session, and collect the analytics described above. You can block cookies in your browser settings, though checkout may not work without them.
How Long We Keep It
We keep order records as long as we need them for accounting, tax, and legal purposes. We keep your email on the newsletter list until you unsubscribe, which you can do using the link at the bottom of any email or by contacting us.
Your Rights
You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. Email hello@clearwoodco.com and we'll handle it. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws like the California Consumer Privacy Act or the GDPR, and we'll honor valid requests under those laws.
Children
Our books are written partly for teenagers, but our store is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to This Policy
If we update this policy, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Meaningful changes will be noted on this page.
